Dr. Wade Baskin, PT, DPT, Cert. SMT, Cert. DN, RRT (Doctor of Physical Therapy)

Currently the first and only Doctor of Physical Therapy in Louisville, Dr. Baskin has been practicing Physical Therapy since graduation, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1991. Prior to that he was licensed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, and he has been involved in direct patient care since 1986. Having been awarded the Mississippi Physical Therapy Association's Distinguished Service Award in 1991, he has since been involved in Association Leadership both at the state and national levels. Moreover, he is a former World Champion in martial arts and understands what it takes to excel at the highest levels in both practice and sport.

At this time Dr. Baskin is involved with patient care, practice leadership, development, and expansion of new programs. He served as an elected officer in the American Physical Therapy Association's (APTA) Private Practice Section from 1999-2009, and he currently serves as an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor for the University of Mississippi Medical Center's Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. He has been in private practice since 1993 when he established GT Physical Therapy (then known as Golden Triangle Rehabilitation). Having directed hospital-based operations, including cariac rehab, wellness, sports medicine, and pulmonary rehab; Dr. Baskin quickly decided that private practice was the best way to deliver premium physical therapy to patients.  He found that patients experienced quicker results (got better faster) and incurred much less overall cost. Since then, he has been an ardent proponent of Physical Therapist run operations as the best way to deliver PT to the public. Dr. Baskin also consults with other Physical Therapists and Physicians to help them develop best practices in this unstable healthcare environment.

Having been published in both text books and professional periodicals, Wade continues to be actively involved in traveling, learning, and developing new and innovative strategies to improve patient outcomes in the out-patient setting. Utilizing cutting edge technology, hands-on techniques and the latest evidence, GT Physical Therapy has achieved an excellent reputation as a results-based practice where physicians and patients know that they are accessing the best physical therapy available.

When not in the clinic, you can find Dr. Baskin spending time with his children either watching gymnastics or playing tennis. He continues to teach special classes in the martial arts at Elite Martial Arts Academy. You can also find him at wadebaskin.com. Outside of the clinic you can find him, traveling, snow skiing, snow boarding, doing extreme martial arts, watching action movies, and bike riding (with and without pedals.)
